Pamela Hunnicutt received her Ed.S. in Educational Leadership in 2007 from the University of New Mexico. She also acquired an Administrative License from UNM at the same time. Mrs. Hunnicutt has been in the educational field for over 28 years, obtaining her BA in Elementary Education at the University of New Mexico in 1984. She began her career in elementary education at Des Moines Elementary in Des Moines, NM. In 1989 Mrs. Hunnicutt completed her Masters at Adams State College, and took a position at Raton Middle School in the Title 1 Reading program. After 11 years at RMS, she transferred to the newly developed alternative program at Raton High School. Mrs. Hunnicutt then moved to Columbian Elementary where she worked as the district reading specialist, and served as principal for three years. Mrs. Hunnicutt has worked as the Reading Coach for K-3 and currently serves as the Title 1 Coordinator for the District. She is presently serving as principal at Kearny Elementary and is excited to move the Kearny team to great heights.
In addition to her busy work life, Mrs. Hunnicutt, along with her husband Wayne, have four children, three of whom are currently enrolled in the Raton Public Schools, and one who has just began her first year at college.
